Week 5
My first project crashed and a lost alot of my work, but i reconstructed my scene on a small island and gave it some colour i then added a script which allowed the enemy which is the humanoid within the gif to chase the player which is represented as a capsule. It is a basic script that i found by googleing for it.
unfortunatly i was unable to figure out how to get the tutors script to work and encountered issues to get the humans to explode and reduce health, and also picking up the health potion as the issue is the same.
Game Idea 1:
I wish to create a 2d platformer game as this is one of my favorite game genres these include donkey kong, mario, and Ori and the blind forest. I wish it to be a bit of a puzzle adventure taking some elements from each of these. The player required to solve puzzles in order to defeat certain paths in the game, it needs to allow the player to chose different paths to finish the stage sort of like how in donkey kong has hidden paths for the player to find and complete, but for this game the paths should be less hidden but each should vary in difficulty allowing the player to either choose the easy path! or the more difficult ones. I aim for the audience to be fans of the platformer genre and i also wish the design theme to be set in a fantasy-magic medieval era. i wish the prototype to focus on gameplay with each level designed to be of a adventure with puzzles and enemies to defeat with the player haveing to rely on magic and medieval style weapony. I believe it will be succesful as in recent years the platformer genre has been returning with many companies making new games in this genre and reviving and remaking older classics to some success.
Game Idea 2:
i wish to create another 2d platformer but this time top down with more of a arcade shooter style, it needs to have large amounts of enemies that spawn with mini-bosses and bosses to defeat in order to progress, with each path varying in difficulty as the difficultly should be determined by the path the player takes instead of at the start. The design style should be steampunk/magic fantasy world with weapons and models, allowing the player to kill waves of monsters with bizare weapony. The target audience should be quite small but it will be players who enjoy the arcade genre.
